Frequently asked questions

What are the classic Minesweeper difficulty levels?

The traditional levels are Beginner (9×9 with 10 mines), Intermediate (16×16 with 40 mines) and Expert (a wider grid with around 70+ mines). Minesweeper Lab maps these to Easy, Medium and Hard, and you can also adjust mine density yourself.

How do I win Classic Minesweeper?

Reveal every square that is not a mine. You never need to flag the mines to win — flags are just an aid for keeping track. When the last safe square is revealed, you win and your time is recorded.

What does chording mean?

Chording is revealing all remaining squares around a number at once. When a number already has exactly that many flags around it, tap the number again to open the rest of its neighbours instantly.
